Guided by: The Republic of Lithuania’s Law on Occupational Safety and Health, Article 27, Part 5, stipulates that employer, except in cases where laws establish a different procedure for the training, examination of knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health, and safe performance of hazardous work, shall determine the training and knowledge verification of employees engaged in dangerous work whose list is approved by the Government. This is following the laws, international standards, international guidelines, and normative documents applicable in the European Union and other industrialized countries. The program is implemented based on demand (Directive 89/391/EEC – OSH).

Objective: New technologies, employee engagement, properly maintained infrastructure, and activities contribute to the reduction of accidents. However, there is room for improvement in this area. It would be beneficial for workers performing high-altitude tasks to enhance basic occupational safety training, ensuring that all employees receive necessary information on safety, identification of risk factors, and are trained to avoid these risks. Potential industry workers need to be provided with basic knowledge of safe work organization and acquainted with global industry rules.

Will Know: Principles of working at height; Occupational safety and health requirements for workers; Performing work using ladders and scaffolding. Use of personal protective equipment; Full-body harnesses (application, proper inspection); Basics of repairing and using absorbers with ropes. Use of scaffolding and ladders; Basics of working with scaffolding; Inspection of scaffolding conditions. Fall protection measures; Use of rope systems, vertical and horizontal movement; Factors causing falls, their prevention; Hazards of working at height (fall injuries, etc.). Rescue operations, including the use of additional equipment.

Will Learn: Instructing employees on safety and health issues, using elevation equipment and other safety equipment and tools. Teaching positioning at height, installation of vertical and horizontal safety systems, and performing rescue operations using additional equipment.
